Sports on ice

Imatra’s modern twin-rink ice arena is located in the Ukonrauha area, where a variety of accommodation options and comprehensive sports facilities are all within walking distance – creating an Olympic training center–like environment.

The ice arena is renowned for its high-quality ice, excellent off-ice training opportunities, and ideal conditions for training camps. It also serves as the home arena for Imatran Ketterä and hosted the U20 Five Nations Tournament in 2024.

The venue has held numerous national and international figure skating and synchronized skating camps, as well as training camps for clubs from across the country. In summer, the arena hosts high-quality, open-to-all ice hockey and figure skating camps for children, youth, and families.

Training facilities

Imatra ice arena

Ice arena with two rinks. Rink 1: 28 x 60 m rink with flexible dasher boards. A 1,200-seat auditorium and a direct view of the ice rink from the restaurant. Rink 2: Practice rink with a 26 m x 56 m ice surface.

Supplemental training facilities

The Ukonrauha area offers a wide range of complementary training facilities, all within walking distance of each other and the ice rink.

Other services

Maintenance and storage premises of the Imatra Spa Arena

Separate storage space and drying cabinets can be arranged for the use of sport camps. The laundry room has 2 washing machines and 3 large tumble dryers.

Maintenance personnel also has access to a separate sharpening room with skate-sharpening and other maintenance equipment.

Dressing rooms

The Imatra Spa Arena has nine dressing rooms for athletes. These can be equipped with movable driers during camps to ensure the drying of equipment between training sessions. Separate dressing rooms with showers and toilets are available for trainers and maintenance staff.

Events and shows

The ice arena facilities also enable the organization of figure skating shows and various other events.
Sound and lighting technology for events can be arranged, for example, through Kaakonkulman Ääni or Gaia Music.
