The hub of mountain biking in Ukonniemi is the pump track that is one of the largest tracks in Finland. The area around the track has a 100-kilometre network of biking paths and routes. The pump track and the paths are enjoyable for both beginners and veteran cyclists. During winter period, there are more than 20 kilometers of groomed trails.

The Ukonniemi area in Imatra offers an excellent setting for football. You have access to an international level indoor sports hall Ukonniemi Arena, Ukonniemi artificial turf field, natural turf of the athletics stadium, and another smaller natural turf field, all within a walking distance from each other. 

The Ukonniemi track and field area includes a diverse, 22-fairway disc golf course. The height differences and forests offer diverse challenges for players. The surface is forest soil in some parts and sandy soil in others. The diversity of the fairways is illustrated by a 50-metre narrow tunnel fairway where the disc is thrown towards a hill and a relatively open 181-metre par-4 fairway that ends on a basket on a small hill.

The new 18-hole golf course offers challenges for Ukonniemi visitors. The Kohonkangas heathlands, in the immediate vicinity of Holiday Club Saimaa, are a perfect location for a golf course. The rolling heathlands, combined with the dramatic kettle terrain shaped by the ice age, provide an impressive setting for your golf round.

Tennis, padel, badminton or pickleball – Ukonniemi has courts for all of them! Imatra tennis hall and padel hall located in the heart of Ukonniemi Sports Centre, includes several courts where you can play regardless of the weather. Two outdoor tennis court and padel court next to tennis hall. You may reserve badminton courts at the indoor arena of Imatra Spa. At Holiday Club Saimaan Rauha, you can find a padel court and an outdoor tennis court. 

Going canoeing or stand up paddle boarding in the Saimaa archipelago is easy. You can rent a SUP board at Tuplakasi Action or Hostel Ukonlinna. Kayaks can be rented from LakeLand Kayaks.

The Ukonniemi area offers great possibilities to excersize all year round - hiking, biking, canoeing, SUP boarding, skiing or skating.  At Lammassaari island (Saimaa Geopark geosite) along the 3,5 km nature trail there are camp fire sites and  a ‘kota’ hut that provides shelter in case of rain.

Imatra's most popular beach, only few minutes walk from the harbour. Beach volley fields, benches and tables, beach cafe services.

Ukonniemi is the number one cross-country skiing location in Southern Finland, year-round! In the summer, you can enjoy the roller skiing track that meets all international race standards and has even been titled ‘the best in Finland.’ In the winter, you are welcome to use Southern Finland’s longest ski track on first snow. During the natural snow season, a 35-kilometre-long skiing track can be accessed from Ukonniemi. The services of the Ukonniemi stadium and the 30-spot shooting range for biathlonists are the highlights of the excellent sports opportunities.

To the delight of all ice sports enthusiasts, Ukonniemi features two ice rinks at Imatra Ice Stadium. There can watch the games of the local ice hockey team, Imatran Ketterä, or hop to the rink yourself for skating or curling. Several ice hockey and figure skating camps are organized in the Imatra Ice Stadium during the summer.

The Ukonniemi testing center offers services to private individuals and groups. The testing services are intended for people exercising for fitness as well as top athletes of different sports.
